“We are having continuous conversations with several parties about a potential investment of new funds on the Club”. That is how the Liverpool responded to the rumors that say the Spanish businessman Juan Villalonga has offered 63 million euros to buy the English club, fact that was not confirmed by the entity.
In a notification, the Liverpool says that “although the structure of any investment is uncertain yet”, it could even “include an offer for the complete capital of the club”, even though no more information was given. In the notification, they assure that they will “keep the shareholders informed about what happens”, but they leave the possibility open for private investors to take over part or all of the stocks of the club.
Apparently, Villalonga, advised by the prestigious Rothschild, has a plan in which he wants to multiply by four the club’s value, also modernize the organization structure and improve the commercial image the club has abroad, until it becomes something similar to the Chelsea nowadays.
